This week on Real Talk I've been asked a lot of questions about spring, my style, and closet essentials! Read through for my answers to these questions and feel free to submit questions for next week via comments or email Alexandria@labelsandvintage.com subject line "Real Talk".
What are your style goals for the upcoming spring season?
Since last year I would say that my personal style is going through a transformation. I invested in a lot of trendy pieces last year and for this upcoming season I want to scale back and take a more minimalist approach to my wardrobe. I still love shopping at fast fashion retailers but I will most likely invest my money at brands with pieces that will last much longer than a single season (#NoShade). I also want to start investing in vintage much more now!
What trends do you think will be huge for spring?
Trends that I feel will be huge for spring are off the shoulder tops (again), ruffles, florals, mules, blouson sleeves, and structured bags. The color palette will definitely be heavy in the pastels with a lot of blush pink. My style is a bit edgier so I will be adopting some of these trends but putting my spin on it!
You've mentioned on the blog that you work full time, what are some of your favorite outfits to wear to work?
I do! I work full time in the suburbs of New Jersey (not exactly glamorous) and so my style is the same as what you would see on my instagram and blog. We're able to dress a lot more causal than most offices so I can wear cozy sweaters with jeans and boots and it's okay! A few outfits that I've shot for the blog and worn for work are here, here, here, and here. When I used to work in Manhattan, I spent a lot of time putting together looks and getting ready because working in the fashion industry in New York meant you had to be on point daily. I'm glad that I'm able to be more casual cool and less glam daily.
For someone revamping their wardrobe what are some must have basic pieces they will need?

What are a few easy ways to elevate your style without investing too much money?
What type of shoes are you planning on purchasing for spring?
Mules, stylish sneakers, block heels, and quality flats! I went on a closet purge recently and got rid of a lot of shoes and so it's safe to say I'll be rocking with the bare minimum come spring. So I'm starting to window shop some shoes that I plan on buying really soon! Check my picks below.
