My Top 5 Favorite Healthy Meals!
So if you guys have been following along on IG stories, you know that I've been on a health kick lately and working out! Since starting BBG (read more about this here) I've been conscious about what I eat because I want to get the most out of this 12 week workout challenge. I'm not following any meal plans, calorie counting, or restricting my diet because that's too overwhelming for me. I've simply made adjustments and food swaps anywhere that I can! For example instead of eating pasta I'll opt for zucchini noodles or substitute rice for cauliflower rice. I used to be one of those people that would ROLL MY EYES at someone who ate this way haha but having a baby, getting older, and realizing my metabolism is slowing TF down was a reality check. I love cooking and have found really great recipes on the internet that are not only good for you but taste delicious! So without further ado here are the top 5 favorite healthy meals that I make on the REG (hubby approved).
Zucchini Noodles + Turkey Bolognese - This is a simple and QUICK recipe that I like to make A LOT! We don't eat ground beef at home regularly (personal preference) so I always opt for organic ground turkey and to make this an EVEN quicker meal I use Victoria brand red sauce.
Turkey Meatballs (with zucchini noodles or chickpea pasta)- My husband grew up eating turkey meatballs and my MIL makes them SOOOO GOOD! I try my best to live up to the standard haha and this recipe has helped! I do modify this though, I don't like adding egg to meatball mixtures because I feel like it makes them way too soft. Instead I grate an onion (on a cheese grater), add 1/4 cup of parmesan, and a few dashes of worcestershire sauce for some moisture! Bake these bad boys on 350 for 30 minutes and they come out perfect every time.
Skinny Taste Turkey Stuffed Peppers - Great recipe and low carb meal!
Quinoa Chicken Parm - I love chicken parm and I eat quinoa a lot so this dish is a no brainer for me! I've made this like 97,000 times it's THAT good and protein packed!
Cauliflower Rice + Chicken Buritto Bowls - This is a new recipe that I started making for dinner and lunch recently. I actually made up my own recipe one day but this one is practically identical! So good if you're craving mexican but don't want to carb load!
