Monthly Beauty Buys
Lately, I've been a bit of a drug store beauty junkie. I don't know about you guys but if I make a trip to CVS for one thing (not beauty related) I somehow give myself an excuse to mosey on over to the beauty section. I love buying beauty at a local drug store because it feels less like an investment and more like an experiment. However, as I'm getting older I definitely want to start branching out and investing in quality products! In the meantime, I want to start sharing with you some of my monthly beauty buys and give you some honest reviews on the products I've been trying!
NYX Wonder Stick
I bought this product because I really wanted a contour cream instead of the powder I've been using. However, I didn't want to go all out and buy an expensive kit so I opted for this wonder stick from NYX. It's not bad, I like it but the pigmentation isn't strong enough for me. I feel like one I blend it with my beauty blender the color disappears. I still use it but I find myself adding my powder contour on top of it.
Essie Gel Couture (Model Clicks)
I'm addicted to Essie nail polish. I've purchased so many of their colors and love all of them! I bought the Gel Couture on a Sunday after realizing my nail salon closed early (rookie move). I love regular polish but it chips for me so quickly so I figured I'd experiment with this new one! It's great, doesn't last 14 days as advertised but you can get a solid week with no chips and it dries SO fast.
Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation
Great foundation. I've tried my fair share of drug store foundations and this one is amazing. It gives you the perfect matte finish and lasts very long! I highly recommend it!
E.L.F. Baked Eyeshadow Trio (Brown Bonanza)
It's rare that I visit a store that has E.L.F. products and don't walk out with something. They are so inexpensive and impossible to resist. This baked eyeshadow trio is really great and the pigmentation is impressive! I'm a sucker for a gold eye shadow and this one gives you the three colors you need for a sultry smokey eye.
Kylie Lip Kit (Leo)
Impulse buy to the max! I love dark lip colors for the winter and when Kylie came out with her Leo Lip Kit I finally had the urge to buy! I'm not sure how I managed to buy this online without it selling out but I did. The color is very dark, I mean close to like a black red which was disappointing to me. I expected a true burgundy shade. It's not bad, but I'm not rushing to wear it anytime soon. Also, it's SO HARD to put on I don't care what anyone says, this was a challenge. Since it's a super dark liquid shade you need to apply steadily and use concealer to sharpen the outline of your lips aka too much work for me. I will say that I love the lip liner it came with!
