How to Wear Vintage: Denim on Denim
I've written about my love for vintage denim tops in a previous How to wear Vintage post over the summer, however, I wanted to style a fall denim on denim look for you! I have a collection of these tops in a variety of different washes. I've found that they are extremely versatile and the perfect layering piece, especailly for fall. So next time you visit a thrift store or vintage boutique don't overlook the denim section, you can really find some awesome gems!
Wearing denim on denim can be a bit intimidating because it really goes against all we were taught about dressing. I mean you really don't want to end up looking like Brittney Spears and Justin Timberlake circa 2001 (I literally just LOLed typing that sentence). That's absolutely the wrong way to wear denim on denim, please don't use them as a model. But it really doesn't have to be that scary, I find it easy to pull off the canadian tux and looking chic at the same time using the below tip!
Tip No. 21 Avoid wearing the same wash of denim for both your top and bottom. Instead opt for a lighter top and darker jean for a more flattering look! Also, add neautral colors like camel to compliment the denim.
