7 Recent Beauty Buys
What a weekend we had here in the tri-state area! The lovely snow storm Jonas came in and dumped over two feet of snow on us here in New Jersey. It definitely threw a wrench in my outfit shooting plans this weekend, so I've decided to introduce beauty this week on Labels & Vintage. I absolutely love buying beauty products and shopping the aisles of CVS, Ulta, or Sephora. Who else is with me on that one? So today I'm rounding up seven of my recent beauty buys and my honest review of each!
1. Kiehl's: Ultimate Strength Hand Salve:
Dry winter skin is something I'm always trying to combat. There isn't a hand cream or lotion I haven't tried to help moisturize my skin! I picked up this Kiehls lotion because I always wanted to try it and see if it lived up to the hype. In my honest opinion it's not amazing, but it does helps moisturize your skin immediately. I'm just not in love with the scent or heaviness. I use it on my hands before bed and it works but overall not my favorite lotion.
2. Maybelline Matte Lipstick: "Burgundy Blush"
I wore this color in my Holiday Gift Guide Magazine and loved it so much! It's a great shade and does not dry your lips out like other matte lipsticks. I can't recommend it enough, especially if you like deep red colors!
3. Anastasia Beverly Hills: Brow Wiz
I'm sure ALL of you have this product by now. I couldn't be more obsessed with my Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz Pencil in dark brown (formally called "brunette"). I've experimented with powders, gels, and mascara looking applicators, not nothing worked. I picked this pencil up on a whim and haven't looked back since.
4. Essie Nail Polish: "Wicked" and "Ballet Slippers"
Hands down my go-to nail polish shades. They do not disappoint at all. Wicked is the perfect deep purple / red shade. Ballet Slippers is the best pink/ white shade in the market and the formula is thick enough so you don't have to apply 99,000 coats. Pair these shades with Seche Vite top coat, and you'll have a perfect quick dry mani.
5. Laura Mercier: Foundation Primer - Radiance
So many beauty bloggers and vloggers raved about this Laura Mercier primer so of course I caved and bought it. I was in line in Sephora and couldn't help but pick it up while navigating the maze of trial sized products they get you to look through before getting to the counter. Needless to say I'm happy I went with the smaller size as it didn't work as well as I thought it would. The primer didn't go on smooth for me under my foundation, it felt very tacky and peeled off! A lot of other customers gave very positive review on Sephora, but unfortunately it didn't work for me!
6. Becca: Shimmering Skin Perfector in "Opal"
Ladies, I kid you not this product NEEDS to be in your makeup bag. I went to Ulta recently looking for a highlighter and I had about five options in my bag and couldn't decide which to buy. I've never heard of Becca before but the sales associate at Ulta practically shoved it in my shopping bag after I asked her for a recommendation, so I bought it! Thank goodness I listened because it's truly a great product. I apply it to my cheekbones, inner corners of my eye, and my eyebrow bone for the perfect pop of shimmer.
7. Lush: None of your Beeswax Lip Balm
I'm always up for trying new lip balms since I'm constantly loosing them! I'm not a regular consumer of natural beauty products, even though I probably should be. However, I was in Lush and wanted to try their vegan lip balm. I absolutely love this one! It goes on smooth and has a really great scent, definitely worth trying!
