How to Wear vintage: The Oversized Blazer
Lets face it, if you shop vintage as often as I do chances are you have run into an item that you absolutely LOVE yet it's 8,000 sizes to big for you. Does that sound about right? Well this has happened to me and continues to happen to me on a regular basis. Sometimes I'll buy a vintage item that I know will not fit me just because I don't want anyone else to have it (selfish i know...I'm working on it!). If I'm too lazy to run to the tailor to get something altered, I'll just figure out a way to make it work as it is. In this case the item in question is my 1980s vintage oversized blazer.
Tip No 4: Wear an oversized blazer with flirty mini skirt and heels for a modern take on power dressing.
There are so many ways to wear an oversized blazer, the most popular way is simply with an awesome pair of skinny jeans and a white tee. It's literally fool proof. However, if you're looking for different approach than the norm, go for a super flirty mini skirt and strappy heels! Just be careful not to wear the matching skirt that may come with the blazer. I repeat DO NOT wear the matching vintage skirt, otherwise you will look like you just walked out of an 80s time machine. Not the best approach if you're trying to transform the piece out of it's original era. The most important thing is to just have FUN with it, that's what fashion is all about! Should you ever get stuck on how to style your piece, send me an email and I'll gladly try and help!
